Doghood & Worthless have installed new Phantom exhibits entitled: IlluminOpArt - The Dance of Light.
Doghood is an electronic artist, his computer programmed lighting, coupled with the optical illusions created by graphic artist Worthless, create a hypnotic experience of kinetic art after dark.
There are two installations (two addresses at the opposite ends of the same building):
455 South First Street & 460 South Market Street in the SoFA district of downtown San Jose.

These guys have created art that you really must see, since a static photograph does not do justice to the beauty and dynamic, mind-warping effects of their pieces. Take a trip, and enjoy!

The movement in the art that Doghood & Worthless create blows me away. The effect is like opening a window on another dimension. It's flat yet 3D, static yet constantly shape-shifting... something that photographs of their art cannot capture alone.
You have to see it in person to experience the full effect... the effect of hallucinating while sober. These talented boys are really onto something. If you haven't seen their art yet, definitely make a point to stop by Phantom and check it out! (Be forewarned... it's
best after dark)

I have a few pieces of original artwork by Doghood and Worthless hanging in my apartment. They are the most stunning and beautiful things I have ever hung on my walls. Everyone notices them, asks about them, and invariably stands mesmerized in awe and wonder by them.

Viewing Doghood and Worthless' work is a beautifully disorienting and endlessly fascinating experience. You have to see it in person; photos can't begin to hint at the visual dislocations and illusions. Can we get a video up on the site?
we'd be happy to link to a video if you have one...maybe you can put it on youtube?
peace,
Cherri
