Printing & Bookbinding Workshop

This is a workshop to make a book using mono printing on plexiglass and cutting images on a linoleum block.

You will learn both printing and bookbinding techniques.

A suggested theme is to use a favorite artist for emulation of style and/or imagery.

This course will be taught by Maja (pronounced Maya), an artist from Montenegro, visiting the United States for six months. She has a masters in fine arts and has studied in Montenegro and France. Maja has 3 - 5 years experience in teaching art at a secondary art school in Montenegro. She has been in 5 solo and numerous group exhibitions.

Above images are examples of a book she did. You will do a more basic book unless you want to explore a more elaborate concept.

Class Dates: Wednesdays, November 2, 9, 16, (skip 23), 30, December 7, January 18, 25 and February 1, 8, 15.
Class Time: 7–9.15 pm

Fee: $350 for 10 weeks session.

Materials that are included in the fee: plexiglass plate for monotypes, ruler, tools for cutting linoleum block and hand-press.

Materials you need to purchase or bring: oil based printing ink or just oil paint, paper, Linoleum blocks.
