Backwater Arts is seeking donations and art submissions for their upcoming fundraiser and spring/summer exhibition schedule.

100/100- March 29-April 12th (silent auction)
100 works for $100 - a fund raiser to benefit upgrades and running costs of volunteer run backwater arts. To donate piece, send a jpeg of the donation piece and your current cv & artist statement by March 1st. Pieces must arrive by March 20th, 2008. No submission fee.

structures/shelters/sanctuaries - April 19th- May 18th
This show is about shelters and hopes to provoke the questions of: Where we hide, dwell, or find solace. Are they buildings, houses, shacks, temples, gardens . . . What are the spiritual implication applied to you imagery? Political? Cultural? For this show, we are looking for a small number of artists to each show about 5 works of art, so each artist applying should have a body of work from which to choose from regarding this theme. Send a cd with 5-10 images, a current cv & resume, and $25 application fee. Submission deadline is March 5th. Notifications made via email March 10th.

Provenance/Progeny-July 12-August 9th
This exhibition hopes to ask the questions: where do we come from? What is our cultural clan? What socio-political issues are involved with our cultural clan? What is coming after we ourselves no longer exist?
