David Mejia will paint your portrait on the spot for a small fee.

Kori Thompson will be on site painting live and available to answer questions about his feature solo exhibit currently on view at KALIED.

Chara will screen 2 of her animated short films.?“End Street Harassment” is a illustrated poem themed for the international movement, Hollaback, which aims to end street harassment around the world.?“Your Heart’s Door” is a 1 minute animation with poetry and music to illustrate the sentiment of being a part of something greater than the self.?Chara Bui combines poetry, music, and drawing to create animations on a variety of topics that deal with being an aware human being in the world.

Exquisite Corpse is based on the Surrealists' techniques exploiting the mystique of spontaneity and collaborative creativity through a visual parlor game.

Each participating artist will be given a blank piece of paper on which they'll create one third of a figure (head or torso or legs, assigned at random). KALEID Gallery staff will collect and arrange all 60 of the individual pieces into a fantastic exhibit of unexpected visual mayhem.

There is no fee to participate, just a commitment to quality work and meeting the deadline of turning your work in July 3-7th at the gallery.

The exhibition will take place in the feature gallery of KALEID with a public artists' reception on July 14th 7-10pm and will be on view through July 27, 2012 during regular gallery hours.

We are seeking paintings, sketches, small works, mixed media, collaborations, and more!

Submission Deadline: Monday, July 23, 2012, 8:00 pm

Details:
- One submission piece per artist (regardless of size)
- Artwork should be appropriate for all audiences. The Usuals is a clothing boutique that caters to many clients. No pornographic or graphic/offensive material.
- Artwork should be no larger then 24" x 36".
- All artwork must be ready to hang (i.e. proper wire backing or hanging teeth attached).
- Artwork will not be accepted without proper hanging mechanisms attached or included with submission.
- All Artwork should be labeled with: 1) Artist name, 2) Title of piece, 3) Price of piece, 4) Contact Info (email and phone number), or business card attached.
